Composite fencing is a high-performance building material made from a blend of recycled wood fibres, reclaimed HDPE or PVC plastics, and proprietary binding resins. Unlike pressure-treated wood or full-PVC vinyl, composite combines the natural look of timber with the durability of engineered polymers.
Modern composite uses capped technology — a protective polymer shell co-extruded over a dense core. This cap blocks moisture, resists UV degradation, and prevents surface staining. Most premium brands contain 80–95% recycled content, making composite one of the most eco-conscious fencing choices available in Ontario.
